Research Interests 

I am broadly interested in understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes impact variation in trait expression both within and between species, and how these changes influence community structure and ecosystem function.  

Currently, my research focuses on: 

1) How do community level changes in traits influence ecosystem function? 

2) What is the effect of  plasticity on ecosystem function? 

To answer these questions, I used a variety of methods ranging from field surveys, bottle incubations, mesocosm & lab experiments, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. 

My taxonomic expertise is in freshwater zooplankton, but I also work with zooplankton communities in coastal and marine systems as well as plants communities in the Mediterranean region.
